One engine used in the 618 was a TH18-54515 Triad OHC from Kohler. The triad engines are no longer available, but our repower kit works very well to replace those engines. The repower kit comes with a new muffler, flywheel adapter, wiring to match the original, clutch spacer, and an oil drain. Our Conversion Kit Listed will only work in units with the TH18, and will NOT work in units with the Command or Magnum. Newer 618 units have come with Kohler Command Twin engines. Because of the shaft height difference, the Triad TH18 and the Command CH18 engine. One was a CH18-62510, another was the CH18-62621. We can typically replace the Kohler Command engines with new engines or shortblocks. There is a CH18S-62642 used on some of the 618 mowers, but it has a 1" x 3" shaft. This will not replace any of the other engines. Please contact us with your Command Engine Model and Spec number to be sure what engine replaces yours. The Kawasaki Kit will replace the Kohler Command Engine with 1-1/8 x 3-11/32 shaft.
