Original Model: Kawasaki 14hp FC420V
This is a recoil start engine and the unit has an electric clutch. The Kawasaki FC420V engine is no longer available. These engines have the same mounting and shaft size as your engine and they have the large alternator to run your electric clutch. If you purchase the Briggs 31c707-0005 you must have a battery for the fuel solinoid on the carburetor unless you purchase a new carburetor bowl without the solinoid hookup on it. If you think you could add a battery and key switch, you could purchase an electric start engine.
