Original Model: Briggs 6hp 12H802-1769
The 12H802-1769 engine had a 25MM x 3-5/32" shaft with a 1/4" keyway and 2 woodruff keyways and a 3/8 # 24 bolt on the end of the shaft. Please note: This mower also used a Briggs 12h802-1764 engine that had a 7/8" diameter shaft 3-5/32" long with a 3/16" keyway and 2 woodruff keys. You will need to measure your shaft before ordering.

While we may have sold many engines listed above to be used for a John Deere JS61 Mower, Push or Self-Propelled Category, we are NOT claiming these are exact replacements unless the product notes explicitly say so. Many original equipment engines may no longer be in production because of obsolescence or EPA regulations, so in some cases there may not be an exact replacement available. Our intention here is to show that other customers have utilized these in the equipment shown, but may have had to make some modifications to do so. If we know of any required changes, we will list those, however, some adapting during installation should be expected.
