Original Model: Tecumseh H70
This engine has a 1" x 2-1/2" shaft. The control chute rod bolts to the top of the engine. The newer overhead valve engines would not have this bolt hole to bolt the bracket onto. Also they are taller than the H70 L-head engine. Due to this difference the control chute rod bracket would have to be altered for the newer ohv engine to work. Also note: if you use the ohv engine with a 3/4" shaft you would need to change the pulley or purchase a sleeve to take the shaft up to 1" diameter. If your pulley has the keystock built into it, the sleeve kit will not work for you.
