Original Model: Kawasaki FD611V-AS02
8/21/2007 the FD590V and FD611V engines have been discontinued without much warning from Kawasaki.
They say the replacement engine for this series of engine is the FD731V series. However the FD731V engine is set up a little different and is slightly larger than the FD590V and FD611V. We will not in any way guarantee that it will fit.
I AM TOLD THAT YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR HOOD OFF IF YOU USE THE FD731V ENGINE IN THIS TRACTOR.
Our Briggs Intek conversion kit works very nice in this tractor.
You need to verify your shaft before ordering. over 90% of them have a 1-1/8" shaft, if you do not verify this in advance it could cost you $200-300 in shipping costs to get the correct one.
If you use our CV20S-JD345-SD kit or one of the Briggs twin cylinder kits you will likely have to modify your hood or maybe just flex it out to clear the engine, this engine is a little extra wider than the original engine.

While we may have sold many engines listed above to be used for a John Deere GX345 Category, we are NOT claiming these are exact replacements unless the product notes explicitly say so. Many original equipment engines may no longer be in production because of obsolesence or EPA regulations, so in some cases there may not be an exact replacement available. Our intention here is to show that other customers have utilized these in the equipment shown, but may have had to make some modifications to do so. If we know of any required changes, we will list those, however, some adapting during installation should be expected.
