Briggs Opposed Twin 461707
One of the engines used in this tractor was a Briggs 310707-0137, another was a Briggs 31C707-0230.
Some of the older tractors had a 20hp 461707 Briggs Opposed Twin engine in them, which requires you to use our 406777-Craftsman-Opp Repower Kit.
If you have an electric clutch you will have to use the alternator and regulator off of your old engine unless you purchase an engine with a 9 amp alternator or larger. If you have a fuel tank or fuel pump mounted to your engine you will also have to use it off of your old engine If you have room for an engine with an oil filter you could use the engines listed with the filter.

While we may have sold many engines listed above to be used for a Craftsman LT1000 Category, we are NOT claiming these are exact replacements unless the product notes explicitly say so. Many original equipment engines may no longer be in production because of obsolesence or EPA regulations, so in some cases there may not be an exact replacement available. Our intention here is to show that other customers have utilized these in the equipment shown, but may have had to make some modifications to do so. If we know of any required changes, we will list those, however, some adapting during installation should be expected.
